A Simple, Beautiful Project Management App
I have many strengths, but keeping on task is not always one of them. I’m always looking for ways to help myself keep track of projects that I’m working on. While I am a big proponent of keeping to do lists, they can get lost, cluttered, and depending on how many cups of coffee I’ve had, completely illegible.
Gantt Charts have become a tool that I now regularly use through google spreadsheets. They’re easy to set up and offer a way to visually track tasks on a project timeline. They work well, but they look like crap. I wanted to simplify Gantt charts to a base functionality of listing a task, and letting the user know if the task is on schedule or not. I removed the predecessor and responsible party feature to make it even simpler.
The result of my thought process is an iPhone app called onTask. It’ features a simple user interface which is “stupid easy” to use and gives quick feedback on a project’s time-table, view the presentation below to see my progress on this new project.
